The armed security training process typically consists of both classroom-based and hands-on instruction. During the classroom portion of the training, individuals will learn about the laws and regulations regarding carrying a gun, the proper use of firearms, and the ethical and legal considerations of using a firearm. This portion of the training also typically covers topics such as battlefield tactics, human behavior, communication skills, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques.
The hands-on part of the training will involve a variety of activities, such as target practice, scenario-based exercises, and simulated shoot-outs. During this portion of the training, individuals will learn gun safety, marksmanship, and how to use a firearm in a defensive situation. Additionally, individuals will also learn how to handle a firearm in a non-threatening manner and how to navigate a potentially hostile situation.
