Why Participating in The Men Who Cook Event Means So Much to the BPS Security Team

In recent years, The Men Who Cook event has become a regular occurrence in many cities. As the idea is fairly new, most people don’t know much about why or how participating in these events makes such a large difference to local communities. If you’re wondering what it means for BPS Security to participate in this event, read on to learn more!

What is the Men Who Cook Event?

Men Who Cook is a cooking event designed to raise money for the Ronald McDonald foundation that provides free housing to families who are traveling for their children’s medical treatments and don’t have money left for lodging. Men Who Cook features those in San Antonio wanting to show off their culinary skills while fundraising for a great cause. The event is open to anyone who would like to take part and is a great opportunity to get more people involved in charity work. It’s also an easy way to meet new people, make friends, and learn new kitchen skills!

How does BPS Participate in the Men Who Cook Event?

The BPS Security organization is made up of a wide variety of people with different skills and interests. While many of us are confident in our kitchen skills, we have one or two members we wouldn’t want over an open flame! Still, we all love to participate in Ronald McDonald House of San Antonio’s The Men Who Cook event and are thrilled to be making our famous brisket! The Ronald McDonald House provides lodging, food, and transportation for 1,000 children and their families each year free of charge. Giving families with sick children much-needed rest and relaxation.

Why Does BPS Participate in This Event?

BPS Security loves to participate in charitable events. We believe it’s not enough to just do your job and exist as a service provider in your community. Local businesses must be directly involved in improving their communities. For BPS, community matters! These children and their families are part of the community; this is why we choose to participate. Men Who Cook is an excellent venue to form relationships with others from our community. The event is also a great opportunity to work with children. Giving a younger generation an opportunity to learn how to cook is a wonderful way to inspire and encourage the next generation of chefs!

The Impact of BPS’s Involvement in the Men Who Cook Event

The impact of the Men Who Cook event on the Ronald McDonald House community is enormous. By bringing together a group of people to create a meal, RHMC provides a practical way for people to contribute to the community. The proceeds from the meals that we and others like us cook at the Men Who Cook event go to those who need it most. Families with sick children are often financially disadvantaged and have a tough time getting the care they need.

The Meaning of Participating in the Men Who Cook Event for Staff

For BPS Security, taking part in the Men Who Cook event is something that we look forward to every year. Our business is protecting innocent lives, and there are no lives more innocent than the children the Ronald McDonald House cares for. It’s a fun event that allows us to get to know one another better and mingle with like-minded people. The event is a very hands-on opportunity to provide assistance to those in need, and “hands on” is exactly our style. Additionally, the Men Who Cook event provides us with a chance to help others and make a difference.
